Privacy policy

1. What we collect

• Account information you give us: player name, email address, password (stored hashed), the charity you chose, and your public-credit preference.
• Gameplay and activity: games played, cards, wins, Bingo Points earned and donated, chat messages, log-in times.
• Device and log data collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, referring page, pages and features used, timestamps, and error reports.
• Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies that keep you logged in, and cookies, pixels, local storage and device identifiers set by us, our analytics providers and our advertising partners (see sections 3 and 4).
• Messages you send us, such as support email or charity suggestions.

2. How we use it

• To run the game and your account: sign-up, activation and password emails, sessions, points, donations, and the public donation totals (with your player name unless you opt out).
• To keep the service safe: preventing bots, abuse, cheating and multiple accounts; enforcing our terms; debugging.
• To understand and improve the service: usage statistics and analytics.
• To show and measure advertising, which is how Charity Bingo funds the donations it makes to charities (see section 3).
• To communicate with you about your account and, if you agree, about Charity Bingo news.
• To comply with the law and protect our rights.

3. Advertising

Charity Bingo is free to play and is funded by advertising. We may display ads from third-party advertising networks and exchanges on the site and in the game. These partners may use cookies, web beacons, SDKs and device identifiers to collect information about your visits to this and other sites and apps, including your IP address, approximate location, device type and the pages or ads you see and click. They use it to show ads, to personalise ads to your interests, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure ad performance. Advertising partners act as independent data controllers under their own privacy policies.

You can limit interest-based advertising through your device settings (for example "Limit Ad Tracking" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization") and through industry opt-out tools such as optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. Opting out does not remove ads; they just become less relevant to you.

We do not sell your account information (name, email, password). Sharing of device and activity data with advertising partners for personalised ads may count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under some state laws; see section 7 for how to opt out.

4. Analytics and service providers

We use service providers to host the service (Amazon Web Services, United States), deliver email (Amazon SES), and may use analytics tools to understand how the site and game are used. These providers process data on our behalf under contract. We may also share information when required by law, to protect the safety and rights of players, our charities or ourselves, or as part of a merger, sale or reorganisation of Okachobi, LLC.

5. Public information

Your player name is visible to other players in the game and in chat. If public credit is enabled (the default), your player name and the points you have donated appear on the Charities page and in the recent-donations feed. You can switch this off on your account page at any time; past donations then show as "Anonymous". Your email address is never published.

6. Retention and security

We keep account, gameplay and donation records for as long as needed for the purposes above and for our business records, including after an account is closed, because your account and the donations made in your name are part of our relationship with the charities we support. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and debugging. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, connections use HTTPS, and access to systems is restricted, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

7. Your choices and rights

• Account page: change your charity and your public-credit setting; see your points history.
• Close your account on the account page. Your account is deactivated and you are logged out everywhere; any remaining points go to your chosen charity at the next month-end. You can reopen it by logging in again. Closing does not erase our records; to ask for deletion of your personal information, email us (next point).
• Ads: use the opt-out tools in section 3. Where state law gives you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or of targeted advertising, you can exercise it the same way or by emailing us.
• Access, correction, deletion: email admin@okachobi.com and we will respond within the time the law requires. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
• Email: account emails (activation, password reset) are necessary to run the service; any other email will include an unsubscribe link.

8. Children

Charity Bingo is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has an account, email us and we will close it.

9. International players

The service is operated from the United States and your data is processed there. If you play from elsewhere, you consent to that transfer.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service and its advertising evolve; the effective date at the top will change and significant changes will be announced on the site. Questions: admin@okachobi.com, Okachobi, LLC.
